Rassmussen: Blunt Contines to Hold Off Carnahan: "
Our buddies over at Prime Buzz have the latest Rasmussen Poll numbers on the Missouri Senate race:
Republican Rep. Roy Blunt continues to hold a ‘slight lead’ over Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan in the battle for the Senate.
The latest Rasmussen survey remains little changed from a month ago: Blunt 47 percent, Carnahan, 41 percent.
Carnahan appears to be suffering from the same malady as other Democrats: health reform-itis.
Moreover, the 60 percent public opposition to the plan in Missouri is higher than it is nationally, which stands at 53 percent, according to the pollster.
President Obama might not be doing her any favors, either, Ramussen suggests; 53 percent say that he’s doing a bad job handling reform.
The pollster speculated that all of this explains why the likely Democratic Senate nominee was missing in action when Obama showed up in St. Louis Wednesday to rally support for health reform.
Anger at Washington is evident in the survey, but talk about mixed messages.
Nearly 60 percent say the country would be better off if most incumbents were tossed out in November.
(Blunt, though not a senator but 12-year congressman, take note.)
But then nearly 40 percent say it would be ok to send back their own lawmakers.
